About me and my art

I live in Latham, NY and I'm a retired Software Engineer, having worked 25 years at GE Research in Niskayuna, NY and 13 years at Power Technologies in Schenectady. I began painting in 1974 and was among the first dozen or so members of the Colonie Art League, but I drifted away from it for the better part of 35 years while raising a family and managing a career.  After retiring in 2011, I returned to drawing and painting and these pages show what I have done in recent times.

I work mostly in oil paints on canvas and of course drawings in graphite. One cannot expect to paint well until he can first draw well. I have done mostly landscapes in and around the Mohawk and Hudson River valleys, but also quite a few portraits and still lifes. My artwork has been exhibited at the Town Libraries in Colonie, East Greenbush and Niskayuna, the Arts Center of the Capital Region, Cohoes Music Hall, National Bottle Museum in Ballston Spa, Thacher Nature Center in Altamont, Niskayuna Sr Center, Pruyn House of Colonie, Averill Park Arts Center and the Southern Saratoga YMCA. I had one-man show in September 2018 at the Beltrone Center in Colonie as well as the St Agnes "Living Room" in Menands, NY in 2017.

I am currently a member of the
Colonie Art League, and the East Bank Arts Alliance.
